Dynamic analysis determines the forces and torques that cause the observed movement. It is based on inverse dynamics (ID): given the kinematic data (accelerations of the segments) and the measured external forces (GRF), the internal joint moments and joint reaction forces are calculated by applying the Newton-Euler equations to each segment, progressing in distal-proximal order (from the foot to the trunk). The force platform directly measures ground reaction forces (GRF) and point of application (COP). Forward dynamics starts from muscle forces and predicts the resulting movement; It is more computationally expensive and is used for simulation. Measured variables: segmental positions (kinematics), GRF and COP (force platform). Determined values: net joint torques, joint reaction forces, joint powers.
