Flow Saturated Soil

Once the flow through a capillary is known, it is possible to estimate the number of capillaries per section of soil and thereby estimate the flow through a soil sample. This relationship can be modeled with Darcy's law, which is the equivalent of Ohm's law in electrical systems. By introducing the concept of hydraulic resistance, it is possible to apply the concepts of summation of resistances in series and in parallel with which the flow through more complex soils can be modeled.
