D7 Tumor and oncological markers

Title

Tumor markers are molecules produced by neoplastic cells (or induced in the host by the tumor) that can be measured in blood. None are sufficiently sensitive or specific for population cancer screening (except PSA for prostate cancer in specific contexts), but they are invaluable for monitoring response to treatment, detecting recurrence, and prognostic stratification.
