Recording of the electrical activity of the muscle using surface electrodes (sEMG) or needle electrodes (invasive EMG). It directly operationalizes the neural activation parameters 'a' of model E2 and the motor controller parameters (K_p, K_d, co-activation) of model E6. It allows us to quantify weakness due to inhibition (A2), detect abnormal activation patterns in neurological disorders (A9) and evaluate muscle fatigue of the respiratory muscles (A6).
