Musculoskeletal pain
Storyboard
It models the physical mechanisms that generate and maintain musculoskeletal pain: elevated tissue pressure, mechanical deformation of nociceptors, inflammation that reduces the activation threshold, and central sensitization. Pain modifies the parameters of models E2 (inhibits activation 'a') and E6 (alters K_p and K_d of the motor controller), generating a cycle of weakness-pain-compensation.
