Models the physical factors that determine the available joint range: viscoelastic properties of soft tissues, bone geometry and passive muscle tension. Distinguishes between passive ROM (determined by tissues) and active ROM (also limited by muscle capacity). It is the model that links tissue mechanics with joint function.
