Water flow measurement
Storyboard
Tools that quantify water transport in the soil-plant-atmosphere continuum: the water potential of the soil and the leaf, the hydraulic conductivity of the xylem, the transpiration rate and the degree of cavitation. They operationalize the E1 model and allow water stress to be diagnosed before it causes irreversible damage to the xylem (PLC > 88%). Combined with soil measurements (E5), they allow us to identify whether the bottleneck is in the conductivity of the soil, the root or the aerial xylem.
