Storyboard

It models the net exchange of carbon, water and energy between the terrestrial ecosystem and the atmosphere. Gross primary productivity (GPP) and ecosystem respiration (Re) determine the net carbon balance (NEE = Re - GPP). Evapotranspiration (ET) connects vegetation to the hydrological cycle. The eddy covariance method measures these flows directly at the hectare scale, without intermediate cameras or models.
