Storyboard

It models the rapid movements of plant organs not mediated by differential growth but by reversible changes in turgor in specialized motor cells (pulvinus): the násties, the nyctinastic movement (circadian rhythms), and the movements of carnivorous traps. The physical mechanism is the active transport of ions (K, Cl) followed by osmotic flow of water, producing rapid and reversible cell volume changes.
