Models the mechanisms of directional curvature of plant organs in response to physical stimuli: phototropism (light), gravitropism (gravity), thigmotropism (contact) and hydrotropism (humidity gradient). The common mechanism is the asymmetric distribution of the hormone auxin (AIA) that produces differential elongation between the two flanks of the organ. PIN proteins are the polar transporters that create this asymmetry.
