Leaf-atmosphere interface

Storyboard

It models the exchanges of CO, water vapor and heat between the leaf and the surrounding air. Stomata simultaneously regulate the input of CO for photosynthesis and the output of water vapor (transpiration), creating the central commitment of plant ecophysiology. The boundary layer of stagnant air above the leaf determines the additional resistance to exchange and depends on leaf size and wind speed.
