Radiation pickup
Storyboard
It models the absorption of photosynthetically active radiation (PAR, 400700 nm) by chloroplast pigments, the quantum efficiency of the photochemical conversion, and the response of photosynthesis to irradiance (curve A-I). It includes the distribution of light in the canopy (Beer-Lambert), chlorophyll fluorescence as a diagnostic signal of PSII status, and the dissipation of excess energy as heat (non-photochemical quenching, NPQ).
