Technique
Storyboard
The diagnosis of the technique evaluates the quality of the movement pattern by comparing it with a reference model (optimal biomechanical technique). Quantitative technical indicators include: joint angles at key moments of movement, angular velocities, muscle activation timing, intersegmental coordination, mode quality index (QMI) and bilateral asymmetries. The coordination index (CI) in swimming (= v_swim / f_stroke) quantifies the technical efficiency of swimming. In sprinting, the horizontal force index (FH%) measures the propulsive orientation of the GRF. The similarity between the athlete's trajectory and the reference trajectory is quantified with the Pearson correlation coefficient or the RMSE between trajectories. Continuous relative phase (CRP) analysis describes the dynamic coordination between pairs of segments. Measured variables: full 3D kinematics, GRF, EMG. Determined values: key angles, IQM, IS%, IC, FH%, CRP, technical RMSE.
